May 21, 2021

The Anchovy police in St James have launched an investigation surrounding the death of a man whose decomposed body was fished from a water tank in Top Eden on Wednesday.

He has been identified as 39-year-old Donovan Thompson, otherwise called 'Double Head', auto body man of Top Eden.

Reports by the Anchovy police are that Thompson, who had been receiving treatment at the Cornwall Regional Hospital for mental issues, was discovered missing from his home shortly after midday on Monday by his mother. She contacted the Anchovy Police Station where she filed a missing person's report. About 10 a.m. on Wednesday, family members formed a search party and went to look for Thompson.

They discovered his partially decomposed body, which was floating face down in the water tank. The police were summoned and upon arrival, the scene was processed, and Thompson's body removed from the tank with the assistance of personnel from the St James Fire Department. It was then transported to the morgue for a post-mortem.

One investigator told THE WEEKEND STAR that they are currently awaiting the results of the autopsy to determine the cause of death.
