An ex-member of the One Don Gang yesterday recalled having to give reputed leader Andre 'Blackman' Bryan a pair of underpants on the first day they met when Bryan stopped at his home to shower.

"He was cursing and saying top don like him and a dat dem put inna de bag fi him wear," the witness remembered. The prosecution witness said he also gave Bryan a merino and a buttoned-down shirt as he was going to a party in Jones Avenue in Spanish Town, St Catherine.

The witness testified that Bryan had ended up at his home after his friend, defendant Daniel McKenzie, who he called 'Biggs', had asked him to pick up a friend at MegaMart on Waterloo Road in St Andrew. But the witness said he had no idea that he was picking up Bryan, until McKenzie, who he said was the don of Lauriston in St Catherine, introduced him to the reputed leader during the journey to Spanish Town.

However, before they arrived, the witness said Bryan indicated that he needed to "freshen up" and McKenzie asked him to allow Bryan to shower at his home. The witness said after Bryan was finished, he left, and before going to the party, picked up two girls at Coal Ground in Spanish Town on Bryan's request. According to the witness, he started getting daily calls from Bryan for pick up and that the gangster gave him strict instructions.

"Him say after me leave work him nuh suppose to a call mi, mi suppose to deh a him foot in a Jones Avenue," the witness testified. The witness said after a while, Bryan started trusting him to take him to his St Andrew home and pick up food for him.
