AFTER a second 1-1 draw with Lacovia High within days, head coach of B.B. Coke High, Fitzroy Ambersely, said the team never played to potential in the Zone E top-four playoff battle of the ISSA daCosta Cup competition yesterday.

Lacovia's Tyraun Bembridge scored from a free kick in the 35th minute, but Jimbo Campbell levelled for B.B. Coke six minutes later.

B.B. Coke stayed top of the table on 15 points, with St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) second on 13 points, while Maggotty and Lacovia are tied on 10 points in third and fourth, respectively.

"We got glorious chances and didn't capitalise on them. We started off very low, miscontrolled some balls and weren't pressing enough. Lacovia were winning all the first and second balls and eventually they got a free kick and scored," said Ambersely.

"We tweaked a change in the midfield and it was blossoming, but I don't think it bloomed enough. We couldn't see any of the flowers coming out," Ambersely added, noting that the team played better in the second half.

In the other Zone E clash, a late goal from Andre Phillpot helped Maggotty High to a 1-1 draw with STETHS at Appleton Estate playing field.

Timmari Roach gave STETHS the lead in the 42nd minute.

STETHS' Kenoy Baton was sent off in the 78th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour.

Andrae Phillpot later equalised in the 84th minute.

Assistant coach of Maggotty, Craig Thomas said the result is considered significant as the points are crucial.

"It means a lot for us today because going forward it's the points that really matter. Getting a draw from a tough opponent is very good. It sets us in our prime position so we can still contest for the other two games," said Thomas.
