Will my girlfriend keep her legs closed while I'm in prison?

Dear Pastor,

I am 24 years old. I have been in a relationship with my girlfriend since 2014. She is 23 years old. I am currently in prison, and I have 12 more years left to do. I have been locked up for two years now. Now, I am wondering if my girlfriend will be faithful to me for that period of time.

I took her virginity when she was 19 years old, and we have two children together. She tells me all the time that she is not the type of person to cheat. She said that she believes that it is childish and sex is not that important to her. She has never given me a reason to doubt her, especially when it comes to another man, and we are getting married next year. She always promises me that I never have to worry about her sleeping around, and I honestly believed her. However, 12 years is a long time.

What is your opinion on this? Do you believe a woman can keep her legs closed for 12 years? Or do I need to snap into reality? Please give me your advice.

Dear D.A,

Your children's mother told you that she will be faithful to you, and she further says that sex is not important to her. If you don't accept what she says, you may fret. So, whether she is truthful or not, you should accept what she says and keep your sanity.

It is not important whether I believe that this woman would not have sex with another man. What is important is that you trust her and that you do not question her about whether she would be faithful to you.

Over the years, men who have been incarcerated have complained to me that their partners have gone with other men. But these women have always admitted that they have established intimate relationships with other men.

If this woman comes to the place where she believes that she has to have another man, I believe that she would tell you. Let us hope that she has no such intention.
