One of Jamaica's most wanted men has been captured. He is Davion Brown, otherwise called 'Balti', 23-year-old of Sterling district, Grange Hill, Westmoreland.
Brown was wanted by the police for several crimes, including murders and shootings.
The police also seized a Taurus 9mm pistol along with a magazine containing five 9mm rounds of ammunition, which they said they found on Brown.
He has since been charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
A fish fry in Hanover turned bloody yesterday after men engaged in a gun war, in which seven persons were shot.
Two persons have since been taken into custody.
One of the suspects is currently hospitalised under police guard, while the other is in police lock-up.
Reports from the Sandy Bay police are that at about 1:15 a.m., a dispute developed between two of the patrons and firearms were drawn.
The dispute escalated and a shoot-out ensued, after which seven persons were found suffering from gunshot wounds.
Guns, ammunitions seized
Cops on the weekend seized two firearms and several rounds of ammunition at Cling Cling Avenue, Olympic Gardens, St Andrew.
The seizure took place on Friday after lawmen carried out an operation at a house in the area, which resulted in the seizure of two firearms and twenty-four rounds of ammunition.
In another incident, a Heckler & Koch 9mm pistol with a magazine containing sixteen 9mm rounds of ammunition was seized by the police on Saturday in Moreland, Westmoreland.
