Two men arrested for allegedly assaulting woman with bottle along Mandela Highway

A woman’s walk along Mandela Highway allegedly turned into a terrifying chase involving armed men, with one of them allegedly attacking her with a bottle and a third suspect still on the run.

Thirty-three-year-old Oshane Hall, otherwise called ‘Drip Boss’, a farmer of Central Village, and 27-year-old nurse Phillip Blackwood Jr, otherwise called ‘Todd’, of Twickenham Park, have been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition and participating in a criminal organisation.

Reports from the Central Village Police are that about 4:15 p.m. on July 6, the woman was walking along Mandela Highway when she was allegedly approached by Hall, Blackwood and another man.

Police say two of the three men were reportedly armed with firearms.

The situation allegedly escalated when one of the assailants chased the woman and attacked her with a bottle.

She managed to escape and later made a report to the police.

Hall and Blackwood were subsequently pointed out to investigators and taken into custody. Both men were formally charged following question-and-answer sessions on August 24, conducted in the presence of their attorney.

Meanwhile, the third man allegedly involved in the attack remains at large, and police are searching for him.

Hall and Blackwood are scheduled to appear before the Spanish Town Parish Court on August 31.
