Police in Arizona have arrested an 80-year-old man who they say robbed a credit union at gunpoint.

Tucson police said Sunday that a tip led to the arrest of Robert Francis Krebs after authorities circulated surveillance photos of him entering the Pyramid Credit Union and at a teller's window. They say Krebs had a handgun, demanded money from the teller, and was given cash before running out of the bank.

Police released the photos after Friday's robbery. A local hotel clerk called police Saturday to report that a man that looked like the one in the photos had tried to cash a cheque.

Police began checking nearby hotels and located Krebs. He was booked into jail on two counts of armed robbery.

It's unclear if he has an attorney.

A heroic whale was captured on camera saving a snorkeller from a shark attack.

Marine biologist Nan Hauser, 63, has revealed how she was protected by a 50,000-pound humpback which pushed her through and at times out of the water to keep the nearby threat at bay.

Nan revealed how she was pushed along by the sea creature's head and mouth, before being tucked under its pectoral fin as a 15-foot tiger shark waited in the Pacific Ocean.

According to the Daily Mirror, she said: "I wasn't sure what the whale was up to when it approached me, and it didn't stop pushing me around for over

10 minutes...

"I didn't want to panic, because I knew that it would pick up on my fear... I feel a very close kinship with animals, so despite my trepidation, I tried to stay calm and figure out how to get away from it."

Nan who has never seen behaviour like this, which is known in dolphins, with a humpback whale was completely focused on her saviour for 10 minutes, not noticing the lingering threat of the shark.

She added: "They truly display altruism sometimes at the risk of losing their own lives."

A man drove a stolen tank into a supermarket before hopping out to get a bottle of wine.

The Russian gentleman whose identity is not known reportedly rammed the armoured vehicle into the front of the store in Apatity, a town south of the Arctic Circle.

It's said that the man who witnesses believe to have been drunk struggled to drive down the narrow streets, before hitting the shop and eventually climbing out of the hatch and running inside.

There, reports from Russian news agency RIA Novosty claim, he went in through the broken window and he was later arrested for possession of a stolen bottle of wine, as the supermarket wasn't licenced for the early morning sale of alcohol.

It is said he didn't resist arrest.

A social media user, who filmed the incident on his phone, added: "Basically, some guy stole an armoured vehicle... and went into a shop to top up his stocks in the morning."
