Lottery winners had a champagne bottle mowed into their garden lawn.

Sue Richards, 51, and Barry Maddox, 58, hit the jackpot in 2016 after they won PS3 million (J$510 million) on a scratch card, and after they upgraded to a PS750,000 (J$127 million) house in Billericay, Essex, they decided to have the quirky image of a Moet bottle pressed into the grass as a reminder of their success.

Sue told Metro.co.uk: "The neighbours must think we are mad, but I've always taken a lot of pride in my garden, and this has been really fun to do too. Who knows, maybe we've created a trend for the summer, lawn-Moeting."

The pair decided on the art as Barry is a keen gardener.

Neville Daytona, 56 who bought the toys at a charity shop placed them inside the deep dips in the M4 motorway in Swindon, southwest England, after they were causing him grief on his daily commute to try to warn other travellers which parts of the road to avoid.

He told Metro.co.uk: "I ride a motorbike, cycle and drive. On a motorcycle or bicycle, you have to swerve all over the road to avoid the potholes if you don't, you're wincing.

"So I thought I'd do something amusing about it."

His protest worked as Swindon Borough Council has since stepped in to fix the "underlying issue".

A mother was left shocked at a "disturbing" leaflet instructing her daughter how to take methamphetamine.

Morgan Julian couldn't believe it when her child came home with the document revealing uses for the stimulant as her daughter has never touched drugs.

But the school's principal, Glen Denham, denied encouraging drug use and insisted the leaflet was part of a wider study by older students and that the parents had simply taken it "out of context".

He told the New Zealand Herald: "The parents who got on to it, who we have spoken to, took it out of context."
