A man stuck an eggplant up his bottom to try and cure his constipation.

The 50-year-old from China was so desperate to be able to go to the bathroom that he decided to put the foot-long fruit up his rectum to try and get some movement.

It was two whole days, however, before he decided to seek medical help after it got stuck up there, as reported by the Metro.

Surgeons were able to remove the intact fruit from his intestines after a gruelling procedure - with the doctors realising he had lung inflammation and a ruptured bowel following the unfortunate incident.

A Russian lake has mysteriously turned blood red in a transformation straight out of a horror film.

The body of water in the village of Gribanovsky situation in south-western Russia's Voronezh Oblast region - suddenly turned a dark crimson, with authorities quickly alerted over fears whatever has caused it could contaminate the water supply.

As reported by the Daily Star, one eager social media user saw an opportunity and suggested it could be rented out to filmmakers looking for a creepy location to shoot a movie.

They wrote: "Guys, you should use it as a financial opportunity. You should quickly get a contract for filming horror movies, and cash in while you can."

According to local media reports, residents have now blamed a nearby sugary factory for the unusual change.

The reports add that the factory has been operating for 160 years and in the past it's been linked to environmental issues.

Alien life could be found on moons orbiting the biggest planets in the solar system.

Scientists have claimed there is a chance extra-terrestrials could survive on the bodies orbiting Jupiter and Saturn, although the cold conditions may make it difficult to sustain life.

However, astrophysicist Stephen Kane of the University of California, said: "There are currently 175 known moons orbiting the right planets in our solar system. While most of these moons orbit Saturn and Jupiter, which are outside the Sun's habitable zone, that may not be the case in other solar systems. Including rocky exomoons in our search for life in space will greatly expand the places we can look."

Meanwhile, Michelle Hill from the University of Southern Queensland in Australia - explained what the next step is.

She added: "Now that we have created a database of the known giant planets in the habitable zone of their star, observations of the best candidates for hosting potential exomoons will be made to help refine the expected exomoon properties. Our follow-up studies will help inform future telescope design so that we can detect these moons, study their properties, and look for signs of life."

An off-duty FBI agent, dancing wildly at a downtown Denver bar, accidentally shot a man in the leg when the agent tried to pick up a gun that fell from its holster as he performed a handstand, Denver police said.

A bystander recorded video of the incident involving the unnamed agent, which authorities said took place early on Saturday at the Mile High Spirits and Distillery nightspot, and the footage was shared widely online on Sunday.

In a statement, the Denver Police Department said the agent "was dancing at a nightclub when his firearm became dislodged from its waistband holster and fell on to the floor. When the agent retrieved his handgun, an unintended discharge occurred."
