Burger King giving away burgers to 'World cup women'

Burger King is giving a lifetime supply of Whoppers to women who get pregnant by a player at the World Cup.

The fast-food chain in Russia took to VK the country's equivalent to Facebook to announce their World Cup-inspired campaign where they also promised to handout PS35,000 (3 million roubles) to all willing participants.

The post which has since been deleted read: "Burger King, within the framework of social responsibility, has appointed a reward for girls who get pregnant from the stars of world football.

"Each will receive 3 million roubles, and a lifelong supply of Whoppers.

"For these girls, it will be possible to get the best football genes, and will lay down the success of the Russian national team on several generations ahead. Forward! We believe in you! (sic)"

The company later issued a statement expressing their regret at their lewd ad, saying: "It turned out to be too insulting. We thank you for the feedback."

Men take more selfies study

New research suggests that men take more selfies a day than women.

According to a report by Barefoot Wine, 73 per cent of men between the ages of 25 and 34 are more likely to snap and share their pics compared to only 64 per cent of their female counterparts.

The study also showed that a number of Brits view selfies as the ultimate form of self-expression which contributes to their overall happiness.

Behavioural Psychologist at Nottingham Trent University, Dr Mark Griffiths, said: "Selfies have become a key source of personal expression over the last few years and are a quick and convenient way for people to present themselves in a way that they want other individuals to see them outside of their social circle.

"Social media has allowed social networks to expand in ways never thought possible a decade ago. A selfie can say more about a person than the written word."
