Creator Family completes Guyana tour
The Creator Family is a diverse group of artistes, musicians and business people who are working hard to make a difference in the world with music.
The Creator Family does not limit the scope of their focus to music. The group is also involved in social work in the inner-city community of Majesty Gardens, commonly known as 'Back-To'.
Earlier this year, they staged the highly successful Back-To Fest concert that featured performances by the members of the group and popular acts such as Beenie Man, Bugle and Junior Reid.
"We believe that while music is made to entertain people, it also has a greater purpose. music can be used as an agent of change because it can inspire people to do great things. Our work in Back-To proves that this is true," said group member Ishabel.
The Creator Family recently undertook a promotional tour of Guyana. The contingent that visited the reggae- loving South American country included Danny English, Ishabel, Wild-Life, Singing Vernon, Serial Killer, Ibo Fire, Ervin 'Alla' Lloyd of Chalice and Back-To Niceness talent show winners Ouch, Dean Loyal, Solution Reid, Flavia, MC Thunda, Ragatawny and DJ Pappi.
During the tour, the artistes participated in a number of media interviews. They also performed alongside their Guyanese counterparts, the Guyana Creator Family, at a pair of events. The first one was the Linden Extravaganza in the town of Linden, and the second was an event headlined by Popcaan dubbed 'Jail Time a Waste Time', which took place at the national stadium in Georgetown.
"The trip to Guyana was a very fruitful one, we did a lot of promotional work; from the minute we landed we began doing interviews. It was a great experience performing alongside the Guyanese Creator Family and Popcaan. The people in Guyana showed us a lot of love," said Wild-Life.
