The Ellis International Production team plans to bring excitement, and of course side splitting laughter to your holidays, when Christmas Comedy Cook Up is held at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel on Saturday.

As in previous years, Christmas Comedy Cook Up will not just offer local comedic performers, but also give the audience a taste of international acts. Popular Jamaican comedians such as Blakka Ellis, Ity and Fancy Cat, Kathy Grant, Leighton Smith and Rosah Roze will delightfully entertain the audience. The international acts include Nigerian-American Yvonne Orji.

Orji will bring not just international appeal, but also up the female presence on the show, along with host Nikki Z. This will be Orji's first time on the Christmas Comedy Cook Up line-up, however, she is no stranger to performing.

world performing

Since making her way on to the comedic scene in 2006, Orji has written for television sitcoms and she has also been featured in TV shows and commercials. Orji also frequently travels the world performing stand up. Currently, Orji is working on the television series First Gen, which she has wrote, produced and starred in. In 2016, she can be seen in the new HBO series Insecure. Canadian-Ghanaian Trixx and Barbadian comedian Trevor Eastmond add to the list of international acts.

new partnership

Part of the proceeds from the Flow-sponsored show will aid the Trench Town Reading Centre. Also a new partnership has been formed with the Kiwanis Club of Young Professionals Kingston, Jamaica, to support their fund-raising efforts to assist the Norman Gardens Primary and Junior High School.

Funny man Dwight Ross joins Nikki Z as host of the 12th anniversary event. In addition to the laughter, Silver Bird Band will provide additional entertainment with their steel pans.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., while showtime is at 7 p.m. General admission to the event is $2,500 presold and $3,000 at the door.
