Recording artiste Don André has denied allegations that he has been paying DJs to stop playing female artiste Spice's song 'Needle Eye'.

According to Don André, who is also promoting a song with the same title, Spice has been creating controversy to stay relevant.

"I take these accusations very seriously. It affects my integrity and what I stand for in this business. All my followers know I have always been very supportive of fellow musicians. I show respect, support and repost achievements of artistes whether we are my friends or not. Just about anyone can tell you that I am the type of artiste that's easy to get along with, so this is no joke to me," an upset Don André told THE STAR.

In a post on her Facebook page, Spice has lashed out at Don André, stating that; "There is a space in dancehall for every song. When you realised how the man dem rate mi in the streets and you couldn't buy them out you come a try look friend, yes everybody tell mi back. A nuh everybody a go make yu two little pound frighten dem."

Dancers associated with the two artistes were recently involved in a physical altercation due to the same controversy concerning the Needle Eye songs.

The artistes later posted a video on social media, in which they dismissed the rumour that they were in a feud. However, just days later, Spice again went on a social media tirade.

Because of her outburst, Don André has said that Spice should focus on music.

"Clearly, her career is now reaching the final furlong, hence the reason why she's launching an attack. She has posted videos and photos of me, more than four times on her page, even on Christmas Day, so this is her latest gimmic. Like I said via my Instagram post, prior to attending Foota's Gyallis Wednesday I've never even spoken to her in my life. Furthermore, how could I possibly offer money to the selectors, who are most likely good friends with her."

The artiste said he does not wish to be embroiled in controversy and merely wants to win the respect of dancehall fans through his music.

"Spice continues to create senseless charades in order to be relevant in the media. She creates all kinds of ridiculous stories that turn out to be a complete waste. I don't want to be a part of it. My work will speak for me. My version of Needle Eye was a real number-one hit in Costa Rica, without payment, tricks and shams. Tom Cruise is a viral sensation that's now making everyone in the dance go flat, and it's making its impact in Jamaica. I proudly share the honour with Ding Dong, Chi Ching Ching and my dancers, I'm not selfish. I'm done with disgrace; I am not into the toe-to-toe with her. Makes no sense," he said
