Yesterday was the birthday of incarcerated dancehall personality, Adidjah Azim Palmer, aka Vybz Kartel.

His legion of 'Gaza' fans will celebrate his birthday at 'Vybz Kartel vs Worl' Boss', tonight, at Oniel's Place car park, Hagley Park Road, St Andrew.

It promises to be a night of fun and frolic for fans of the incarcerated entertainer.

"Well, when I pree the whole thing, I realised that dancehall fans always try to differentiate between the black Kartel, that is before he bleached his skin, versus the Worl' Boss, where he bleached his skin and changed his sound. Each era has its own fan base," popular producer Linton 'TJ' White, head of TJ Records, said.

"This is a great opportunity for lovers of dancehall, especially, younger fans, a new generation who may not know all the work of the black Kartel, so this is a good way to introduce that generation to his whole body of work."

The black and white posters of the event feature the duality of Kartel's character, a black Vybz Kartel and a lighter Worl' Boss with the words: Old Vybz Kartel vs Worl 'Boss.

"The feedback has been incredible so far. Kartel's birthday is the day before, so they can come out and party with the Worl' Boss in spirit. It is a Kartel event, so we cater for the women especially, so two women can enter for the price of one before midnight, and everybody else is $1,000 afterwards," White said.

Tony Matterhorn, Fire Links, Chromatic, Richie Feelings and Di Unit will provide music for the event.
