Celine Dion's husband has died after long cancer battle

René Angélil, husband and manager of singer Celine Dion has died of cancer on Thursday, The STAR understands.


Angélil passed away Thursday morning in Las Vegas, United States. He was 73 years old.


The couple share three sons René-Charles, 14, and 5-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy.


However, Angéli has three adult children from a previous relationship, Anne-Marie, Patrick and Jean-Pierre. 


Angélil who knew that he had very little time left with his family is said to have battled three bouts of throat cancer.


"The family requests that their privacy be respected at the moment; more details will be provided at a later time," a representative told American media outlet People Magazine.
