Karnival parties blast off this weekend
Karnival Countdown blasts off tomorrow at Constant Spring Golf Club and organisers of the six-week series of soca parties leading up to the annual Jamaica Carnival, are promising high energy and great vibes.
A popular emcee has been invited to bring a bit of extra spice for tomorrow's launch, which is expected to be a great start for the series that sees parties being held on February 3 and 18 as well as March 3, 17 and 24, when the Karnival Soaker will bring the series to an exciting conclusion.
The final 'wet fete' is expected to feature a 'special' soca artiste whose name the organisers are keeping close to their chests for the time being, hoping the suspense will help generate the necessary interest to have soca fans out in droves.
"Carnival, as much as it has grown over the years, is still an emerging market in Jamaica," said organiser Chad Williams.
"Having been around the Caribbean and North America, experiencing what the season has to offer to different cultures, 'Karnival' Events is simply playing our part in improving the presentation to our Jamaican market."
