A Bar's Got Talent kicks off - winner gets $50,000
Tonight, popular corporate sports bar and restaurant, A- Bar Restaurant and Lounge, will kick off its first ever talent showcase dubbed A Bar's Got Talent.
The competition which will run for seven weeks ending March 16, takes place every Wednesday at the bar's Springs Plaza, Constant Spring Road, location beginning at 9 p.m.
The competition is free for interested talented performers who are looking for a platform to showcase their singing or deejay skills. There will be weekly elimination until there is a winner and the grand prize for this competition is $50,000.
A-Bar, which opened doors to the public over three years ago, decided to add a 'twist' to its existing weekly feature Beer Wings Wednesdays by adding the talent competition.
The competition is hosted by popular comedian and television host Dufton Shepherd and the judges are international recording artiste Kei Dubb and disc jockey David Isaacs.
Proprietor of A-Bar Restaurant and Lounge, Kevin Francis said: "We recently hosted a Disc Jockey competition and realised how successful it was and just how talented these contestants were. So we decided to host another event but this time creating an opportunity for the very talented singers and deejays among us to get an opportunity to showcase their talents.
Jamaicans are very talented and there are not many options for an average person to get an opportunity to showcase to an audience much less get a financial boost to kick start their career. So we decided to give them that much needed exposure".
Contestants are encouraged to email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 631-4194 if they want to participate. They can also stop by and leave their information by today.
