Ifertari nks deal with US record label
Reggae singer Ifertari has inked a new recording contract with US-based record label Luminous Records. She plans to release an EP through her new label later this year.
"I am currently working hard in the studio with the new, hot producer outta Jamaica, Stulla. He is making great rhythms and the world can expect an electric EP," she said.
Luminous Records is based in Tampa, Florida. Ifertari is promoting her debut album, Learning Process, and will be doing a number of performances to promote the project in markets overseas.
"I have an upcoming Learning Process tour, starting in June, in Canada, UK, Japan as well as the USA. Last year's tour was successful, so this will be the follow-up," she said.
Last year's Learning Process tour featured a number of gigs in the USA, kicking off in Fort Lauderdale, before doing gigs in Tampa, and towns in Virginia and Georgia.
Ifertari launched her debut album in April last year, and the set spawned popular radio songs such as Morning Evening and Black Skin.
Ifertari, born Sashanna Hunter, migrated to the USA from the Waltham Park area of Kingston at age 12. She returned to Jamaica two years ago to pursue music, and has not looked back since.
