Redemption Live! - Digicel celebrates Marley's birthday with annual concert

Among the slate of events to celebrate reggae icon Bob Marley's 71st birthday is the annual Digicel Redemption Live concert.

The concert will be held at Sabina Park, Sunday, starting at 4 p.m.

"The Redemption Live concert has become a calendar event, every year the event keeps growing, and we are very happy with the successes because it is an indication that our customers are happy.

"Last year we had over 15,000 patrons turning out, downtown, to celebrate with us and over 13,000 viewers of the live stream, worldwide. This year, with the move to Sabina Park, we know it will be bigger and the 48-hours of Bob live stream will make the celebrations even better," said Tari Lovell, sponsorship manager, Digicel.

The line-up includes veteran and current reggae crooners such as Morgan Heritage, Nesbeth, Tanya Stephens, Sizzla, Coco Tea, Jesse Royale, I-Octane, Bugle and Leroy Sibbles, among others.

The 2016 reggae Grammy-nominated, Morgan Heritage has expressed excitement in performing at the concert.

Gramps Morgan, member of the group said, "We are looking forward to Sunday. We haven't performed in Jamaica for while, especially in Kingston.

"Our fans can expect to hear some of their favourite Morgan Heritage hits as well as new songs from our Grammy-nominated album. We want everyone to come out, as we know, with Digicel it will be a first-class production".

For those unable to make it to Sabina Park, the concert will also be streamed live on the Digicel YouTube page - - as a part of the 48 hours of Bob stream, available from midnight Saturday, February 6.
