George Nooks hits number one
Veteran singer George Nooks is number one on both the Foundation Radio Network New York Top 30 chart and the South Florida Reggae Top 30 with his latest single, 'Ride Out Your Storm.'
Ride Out Your Storm produced by Total Records, is taken from Nooks' forthcoming gospel album of the same name.
"We are looking at releasing the album in the second quarter of this year. It will be distributed by Tads Records," Nooks explained. This will be the singer's second gospel offering. In 2002 he release Giving Thanks for VP Records.
Carl Morrison, Total Records and Tads Dawkins Sr worked on the new Nooks album.
Nooks enjoyed a prolific period during the mid to late 1970s beginning with 1975's Judgement Day, which was produced by Earl 'Chinna' Smith. As Prince Mohammed, he scored hits with Forty Leg, Tribal War and Bubble We A Bubble.
In the 1990s, Nooks had a brief run on Billboard's R&B Singles chart with Real Man. A decade later he enjoyed a career revival thanks to chart toppers including Lean on Me, God Is Standing By and Hero.
