Savage collabs with Beenie Man
Dutty Fridaze recording artiste Savage Savo, a former member of Mavado's Gully Squad, has provoked the ire of Gully fans by teaming up with Beenie Man for a song Dollars a Turn for Victory Squad Entertainment.
"Since mi post it on mi Instagram, mi see some negative comments on social media, say mi a sell out the Gullyside, but mi know ah people a try pull off a stunt or try incite controversy because Savo rated by every member of the music fraternity. Is not a diss song," he said.
Savage is an original member of the Gully Squad, formed by Mavado.
Dancehall superstars Mavado and Beenie Man have been at odds. Mavado took a jab at Beenie in Money a the Ting. Beenie Man responded with a diss song, Think Mi a Simma, aimed at Mavad, calling him 'barber bwoy' and 'rapper groupie'.
Savage has been recording a number of songs in recent months, two of which, Action Bwoy and Score, direct counteractions to Alkaline, which have been racking up thousands of hits on YouTube.
"The songs, especially Action Bwoy, ah gwaan bad overseas. Nuff selectors ah request dubs and dem ting de. The career ah gwaan good. Mi do a song with all Spragga Benz, which will be released soon, so the ting up," a confident Savage said.
