Bright days ahead for Sol
Dancehall artiste Sol believes that he has a bright future given the buzz around his latest single, 'Feel So Good', which was released last July on the Krayv Music label.
A video, which was released for the single one month ago, has racked up over 106,000 views on YouTube.
"The response so far has been incredible, a lot of comments and spins on my SoundCloud and my Twitter accounts. The radio play has been OK; Ijahbing, Little Richie and Wizzle have been spinning it, plus it has been on SunCity Radio and RJR, so it's a good look, " the artiste, born AndrE Rowe, said.
Sol is the Spanish word for 'sun'. Rowe, who was born in Kingston, attended St Jago High before migrating to Texas. He recorded his first single in 2010, and began to open up big shows for established acts like Serani and Gyptian. After moving to Virginia, his fan base continued to grow; however, he yearned to return to his roots, so he took a chance to come back to his native land to pursue music.
"I took a gamble. I decided to come back to Jamaica to push my music, and I am doing everything to make sure it happens. Right now, the song hot inna Virginia and along the DMV. They can't wait for me to come and do shows," he said.
Sol has been working with Young Locke Music/Truck Back Records, and he has recorded a single called Wine on Me, which will be officially released soon.
In the meantime, he is amping up street promotion of Feel So Good, popping up at the hottest dancehall parties in the Corporate Area. "This song has the potential to be my first major hit," he said.
