Gully Bop, manager on good terms
Dancehall artiste Gully Bop has denied allegations that he parted ways with his manager Karl Durrant. According to the deejay, the statements he made to the media in an interview recently were taken out of context.
Gully Bop said Durrant, who assumed managerial duties following a fallout with his ex-fiancee, Shauna Chin, is still his manager. However, he was simply trying to explain to the media that he also needed a US-based manager to handle his business overseas.
"Karl Durrant a still mi manager. Mi did a try tell dem sey mi want a manager weh can look bout mi career a foreign, but mi never tell nobody seh mi and Karl stop work. A Karl a deal wid the thing right now," Gully Bop told The STAR.
When contacted, Durrant also confirmed that he was still working with the artiste. The manager said Gully Bop requires some amount of patience to work with, however, he is always up for a challenge.
"I was surprised when I heard the news because it was all strange to me. As far as I knew me and Gully Bop never stopped working. I was in the process of negotiating some shows for the artiste when I heard the news and that really disrupted things for a minute, but we have spoken since and what was an obvious
misunderstanding has now being ironed out," he continued.
"Gully Bop has a good heart, but he is sometimes misunderstood. It takes a level of patience to understand him as person and that is how I approach our working relationship. We have some shows coming up and the work continues from here. For all business regarding Gully Bop, I am still the person to contact. Please ignore everything you have read or heard otherwise in the last few days."
Gully Bop is expected to perform at BritJam in Montego Bay this month, as well as a few shows in the Caribbean in the coming weeks.
