Following on his first studio release, 'Who, I' in 2012, budding poet, writer and dub chanter Jawara Ellis has completed his second studio album release simply titled 'IRoots'.

The collection of poetic songs, lyrical chants and dramatically 'dubbed' poems reflect the interests, insights, spiritual teachings and practices defining the man behind the deep dub sounds.

Musically, IRoots offers a colourful combination of dub step and roots rock reggae beats. This new work presents a compatible blend of strong but simple and accessible writing mixed with hard rocking live beats reflecting the reach of poetry across socio-cultural, geographical and generational lines.

Produced by Ellis Rave Productions in collaboration with executive producer Ini Oneness of Hands & Heart Music (UK), the 15-track album features productions from the likes of Ras Muffet of roots injection (UK), Ras Joseph of King Alpha Studio (UK), Brizon Strand Studio (USA), Matthias Reul and Jideh High of High Elements Music (France).

A graduate of the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts, Ellis is a respected martial arts expert and a versatile writer/actor/spoken word artiste. He has worked on screen and behind the scenes on several episodes of Jamaica's popular Ity and Fancy Cat TV show. He has also performed as a dub chanter on several local and international platforms and is a noted contributor to the Poetry Society of Jamaica's monthly live performance series.

This new studio album also features some popular artiste in Jamaican roots and reggae music culture, with the likes of Micah Shemaiah, Noel 'Rozah Roze' Ellis and Oku Onuora making contributions.

Other notables include Exile Di Brave and Infinite, both from the EDB Vinyl Thursday Family, along with US-based Jamaican deejay Wedda Man who is featured on the track See Signs.

Dub mixes were done by the individual producers of the instrumentals and the entire project was recorded and mastered at RAVE studio by Ellis himself, who also executed other aspects of the project, like artwork and design. The complete works will be available on LP and also online through iTunes and other major Internet distributors.
