Music pioneers hailed in EP
Reggae artiste Exile Di Brave recently recorded a 12-track EP titled To the Foundation. The humble Rastafarian entertainer said that the project was done to pay homage to the pioneers of Jamaican music.
?This is a very special project that I?ve done to show my respect to all the musical greats who came before my generation,? he said.
To the Foundation features original songs that were recorded on original versions of reggae, ska, and rock Steady rhythms such as Real Rock, Satta Massagana, Cuss Cuss and Queen Majesty.
?I could have done remakes of these riddims, but I didn?t because we wanted to capture the original sounds from the early days,? he said.
A release date has not been set, but when the project is released, it will be available for free download on the Internet along with a video that highlights the concept of the project.
Also on the cards for Exile Di Brave is an upcoming tour of Europe. ?I?m heading to Europe on March 25. I will be on tour until May 7. It?s always a great experience travelling and performing for my fans and spreading the musical message.?
