Charlie Chaplin drops new video - Album to follow in the summer
Album to follow in the summer
Veteran dancehall legend Charlie Chaplin has shot a video for his song, 'Freedom'.
"The shoot went well. The fans are going to love the script. Freedom is about a girl and a man who have been in a relationship for a long time, coming from far, but because of overseas influence, she said that she wanted her freedom to go and do what she wants. After going abroad, and realising that it is not what she expected, she wants to return," Chaplin explained.
The video has gone into post-production and will be ready by this week. It was directed by Marcel Stewart, with Richard Bennett as executive director.
"We will be going all out with the video as it is the lead song for Chaplin's album, which his due out this summer," Chaplin's publicist, Andrew Pryce, said.
Freedom is the first single from Chaplin's soon-to-be-released studio album. It will be his first album in 27 years since his Two Sides of Charlie Chaplin for RAS Records.
The man known as 'The Principal' because of the educational bent of his songs remains active on the reggae/dancehall circuit. A few weeks ago, he did a show in Toronto, Canada, at the West Indies Cultural Centre.
"I have also done shows like Garance Reggae Festival and other major shows in places such as London, Lille, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, France, and Austria," he said.
The album is eagerly anticipated by his legion of fans all over the world.
"This album will consist of 12 tracks and one bonus track. The name has not been decided yet. It will either be Royal Blessings or Armageddon," he said.
