Production company EppJam Production and PR and Booking Agency StreetCred Jamaica, has launched Central Jamaica's first official live show series, 'Clarendon Live'.

The event, slated for every first Friday at Fyah Side in Toll Gate, Clarendon, started recently with recording artistes Tanya Stephens and Mackeehan.

"The first show exceeded our expectations. We now have people calling in to find out where to purchase tickets for the next show in May," Janice Young of StreetCred said.

The event, which catered to a few hundred people on its first staging, will feature dancehall and rocksteady icons, Yellowman and Ken Boothe.

"Tanya Stephens and Mackeehan were exceptional last month, so for the month of May, with Mother's Day in mind, we are going for a very retro theme. Both Ken Boothe and Yellowman are icons and I thought this will appeal to a more mature audience," Joseph Moore of EppJam Production shared.

The show was conceptualised by Moore and Young and aims to promote positive live music in central Jamaica where live music and artiste performances are lacking.

The series will have a different theme every month and will cater to different target audiences.

"Clarendon Live is really about bringing people together in a secure environment that has great food, drink and entertainment," added Young.

The second staging of Clarendon Live is slated for May 6, 2016. Gates open at 8 p.m., show time is 10 p.m. Admission, $600 presold at the venue; $800 at the gate; and seated, VIP mix-drink inclusive, $1,200 at the gate.
