Dancehall artiste Sol has added an aka to his name as his popularity grows in the streets. He is now known as Sol, aka The Weatherman.
"Right now, my Weatherman song ah take off in the streets, it has gained popularity after three weeks of campaigning in the streets. So right now, from Darling Street to Cross Roads to Half-Way Tree to Portmore, everybody ah call me the Weatherman," Sol said.
The song has become a fixture on more 30 mix tapes, including mixes by DJ Kenny, Don Kingston, Fire Chief, Ghetto Boom, Hotta Ball, and DJ Dotcom.
"DJ Kenny actually calls his new mix Weatherman. Right now, the campaigning in the streets start to connect too, big up to Boom Boom at Uptown Mondays, Wessy Wessy at Nipples Tuesday, Bradda at Gallis Wednesdays, Ruxie at Magnum Wednesdays, and the crew at Wappingz Thursdays," Sol, aka The Weatherman said.
The single has started to bubble on local dancehall charts as well as charts in Guyana and Antigua. He has done a number of interviews on radio and television to promote the song.
"Right now, the ting up. Mi a do crazy jingles and dubs for top notch selectors like Boom Boom, Tony Matterhorn, Ruxie, the ting ah shot," he said.
