Jamaican businessman to appear in popular american TV series
Jamaican businessman, Lowell Hawthorne, is set to be featured on CBS's award winning series, Undercover Boss.
Hawthorne is President and CEO of Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery & Grill, a wholly Jamaican-owned chain of quick service restaurants.
The business is one of the fastest growing franchises in the U.S. with over 120 franchise restaurants in nine states.
Golden Krust also operates a Retail Division that provides Jamaican patties to the New York City public schools, the penal system, military channels and over 20,000 supermarkets, club stores and dollar stores nationwide.
According to CBS19, in the episode, Hawthorne will go undercover to unveil the business models' strengths and flaws as well as learn of the personal and professional issues that employees and franchise players face.
The episode is set to air on May 22, 2016 at 10 p.m est.
The businessman stated that the experience provided him with meaningful outlook into the Golden Krust brand.
"Being on 'Undercover Boss' provided a golden opportunity to get an inside look from the perspective of the employee, the franchisee and the customer. I walked away with an extraordinary sense of pride for our amazing employees. When it boils down to it, it's about our product and the committed people behind it," Hawthorne noted.
He also stated that his company's mission is to become the "King of Patty".
For him, that is mission and everything the company does, is done with that in mind.
