Lady Genius launches foundation
Jamaica-born, international recording artiste, and reggae singer Lady Genius has launched her very own charity called the Lady Genius Foundation.
The 26-year-old, who is currently on a US tour, took the time out of her busy schedule to ensure her foundation was launched in the time frame that she has set out to accomplish.
"Giving back is always something I personally enjoy doing, and it hurts to see others in need with little or absolutely no help put in place to assist them," said Lady Genius.
She added that in the past she has reached out and helped a lot of Jamaican people who have been in need. In one given instance, she made mention of a young female in Montego Bay who was desperately in need of financial assistance in order to undergo a kidney transplant. Unfortunately, after giving financial assistance to the woman, she eventually died.
The foundation was launched last month and aims to assist the needy in Jamaica and the Caribbean. She mentioned that the Lady Genius Foundation will assist children with back-to-school expenses and other things, the sick and those who are financially unable to undergo surgery and the homeless to name a few.
She has put in place bank, Paypal, and Gofundme accounts so that people from all over the world can donate to the foundation.
"I really hope to get other brands and companies on board in the near future to become affiliates of the Foundation," said Lady Genius.
