Ity, Fancy Cat meet Kafinal
It will be a reunion of old friends when comedians Ity and Fancy Cat meet singer Kafinal at 'Lyrics and Laughter' - an evening of music and comedy set to unfold this Sunday in Toronto, Canada.
The duo will share headlines with the artiste with whom they first shared a stage at the then famous Cactus Nightclub over a decade and a half ago when he was also part of a duo called 'Kafinal and Sambo'. Now residing in Canada, the recording star and performing powerhouse has built a reputation as Toronto's 'king of festivals' after delivering smashing performances at several major music festivals across Canada. He recently copped Canada's prestigious Juno Award for Best Reggae Recording with his single Nah Complain.
'Lyrics and laughter', set for National Event Venue, will also see performances from other top Toronto-based entertainers, including veteran poet, actor, and comedian Blakka Ellis; comic actress and prolific theatre producer Marcia Brown; standout stand-up comic Maliaka Bryce; and Toronto's newest teenage singing sensation, Jolani.
Musical accompaniment will be provided by one of the hottest show bands in Toronto, the talented and entertaining Neison Hardy-led aggregate Di Cru. Patrons will also have the opportunity to win several valuable door prizes, including airline tickets courtesy of main sponsors Fly Jamaica Airways.
'Lyrics and Laughter' is a production of Kinteet Kompini - a professional arts and entertainment production company dedicated to producing and promoting exceptional performance art across a range of genres. Part proceeds will go towards supporting the annual scholarship programme of Arts and Culture Jamaica Inc.
