Martin excited about road trip
Christopher Martin is all excited as he prepares to leave the island this weekend for yet another road trip that includes stops in Fort Myers, Washington DC, for the first-ever Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival, and several countries in Europe.
The jerk festival is set for Sunday on Pennsylvania Avenue, between 12 and 14th streets in downtown Washington.
"They are blocking off the streets for us," said Martin's manager, Lydon 'Kingy' Lettman. "It's going to be Christopher Martin and his band, the Jamdons."
Thousands of Jamaican and Caribbean nationals are expected to turn out for the event for a taste of jerk cuisine, cultural offerings and a variety of performances that, in addition to Martin, will come from reggae icon Freddie McGregor, No-Maddz, as well as Ikaya, and soca talent Edwin.
Martin said he is really excited about performing there.
"That's going to be awesome. My band will be there and it's a family event, so people of all ages will be there, so we are going to bring something for everybody. Nothing changes with Christopher Martin. We aim to please at all times," he said. "From people come out and hear Christopher Martin will be there, they expect a good show, so that's what we are going to deliver."
From there, Martin will head for the European leg of their extended road trip, where, among several engagements, he will be performing at the Summer Jam Reggae Festival in Germany.
