Roots singer Richie Spice is the first artiste billed for Riddim-Don Magazine's monthly Unplugged series. It kicks off today at Mingles nightclub on Boston Road in Bronx, New York.

According to the Adrian 'Donsome' Hanson of Riddim-Don Magazine, the monthly series is aimed at bringing artistes up close and personal with their fans.

"The objective is to give the artistes the opportunity to be up front and personal with their fans and also bring back live music. Fans will not have to wait until a festival is being held, to see their favourite artistes performing with a band," Hanson explained.

The event will be held the last Friday of each month. It will feature artistes who have a large body of work.

"We chose Richie Spice to kick off the series because fans in New York have been longing to see him perform. He hasn't performed here for a while, and he has a large catalogue of hits which fit well with the unplugged concept," Hanson added.

Richie Spice, who is known for hits including Brown Skin, Earth A Run Red and Grooving My Girl, is currently in the United States on his World Cycle Tour 2016.
