Vegas to drop This Is Dancehall
Dancehall star Mr Vegas is moving full speed ahead with his career.
The veteran entertainer rose to prominence 19 years ago with the unforgettable dancehall hit, Heads High. He recently completed his Real Dancehall Tour.
The tour commenced in Israel two months ago and ended with a show-stopping performance from Mr Vegas in Atlanta, Georgia, last Saturday.
"The tour was a resounding success. People want authentic dancehall music. The support I received on this tour is proof of that. All the dates were sold out."
Vegas is preparing for the release of his eight full-length project, This Is Dancehall.
"I've created this album to show that real dancehall music is still being produced in Jamaica. A lot of foreign acts are sampling our music and capitalising on it, so it's only fair that we, the originators, benefit from it too," said Vegas.
The album will feature cameos from international acts such as Stylo G from England, Said from Guatemala and Naudia Rose from England.
The producers on the album include Mr Vegas, his protoje, Natel, Riva Nile, DJ Rodrick, DJ Raffe, ZJ Dymond, Ali Reza and Tahoeni from Holland.
"This album can compete with any dancehall album that has been released, both locally and internationally, for album of the year."
Two singles recently released off the album, Identify My Love and Wine Pon Di Beat, are enjoying heavy rotation worldwide. This Is Dancehall is slated for released before the end of summer.
