Chevan returns with new track, 'Friends'
The reggae music industry will receive a much-needed shot in the arm with the return of Chevan Clarke, an artiste widely regarded as a natural vocalist.
Once known as Jah Selah, the ultra-talented artiste scored a minor hit almost eight years ago, Lonely Girl, but migrated to the USA soon afterwards. He cut his trademark locks, got married and settled down. However, something was missing. The siren call of music followed him like a jilted lover.
"Music is my true calling. She breaks my heart each time, but I love her still. Music is my true love, I have had a passion for it from a tender age. I spoke to my wife about it and she is 100 per cent behind me, so it is full steam ahead," he said.
Chevan is back to rally his brothers with his voice and an aesthetic that has been missing for some time. Check out his powerful new track, Friends, about the nature of friendship.
Released in the first week of June on C and N Records label, the single features Chevan's voice soaring masterfully over the compelling track.
He will be aggressively promoting the song in a series of shows, radio and TV interviews, plus the launch of his website and product line. Chevan will be shooting a video for the song next month with noted music-video director Nordia Rose.
