Sunshine Youths, the promoters of the Portmore Jamboree stage show, has given back to their community from the proceeds of the show.

"Out of the proceeds of the event, we gave back 13 bags of cement along with sand and gravel to aid an elderly couple to help repair the roof of their house," Javon Burton, one of the promoters of Sunshine Youths, said.

The Portmore Jamboree, held inside the Naggo Head taxi stand in St Catherine every December for the past three years, was organised by the Sunshine Youths as a 'peace initiative', a way to bring back the love for people in communities in the area and to endorse fun, wholesome, and healthy activities.

The event has seen performances from artistes such as I-Octane, Jahmiel, Popcaan, Gaza Slim and Einstein, just to name a few. The next initiative for the group is a summer treat in Portmore.

The Sunshine Youths also used this medium to acknowledge their loyal sponsors.

"On behalf of everyone, we wish to thank, T&T Holdings Limited, Wright's Sports Bar, P&P Hardware, Fisher's Sports Bar and Superlative Auto in their support and sponsorship of our team for the Portmore Jamboree in aid of senior citizens and underprivileged youth," Burton said.
