Nadiva nominated Carolina Music Awards
Jamaican artiste Nadiva Devereaux has been nominated for an international award.
The songbird, who has released several R&B and reggae recordings, is set to make her mark on the music world in a big way after she was recently nominated in the Best R&B Artiste of the Year category of the prestigious Carolina Music Awards.
"I feel honoured to be listed among the nominees in this year's Carolina Music Awards. I'm very grateful for this recognition of my work," the talented entertainer, who hails from Montego Bay, St James, said.
Nadiva is currently promoting her latest single, Monday Morning, which was released on iTunes and Spotify last year.
"I'm getting great feedback about this song, it's doing well in the US, Africa and Europe," said Nadiva.
The singer/songwriter, whose real name is Narda Malcolm, is also a hospitality professor at the North Carolina Central University in the United States. Inspired by the likes of Queen Ifrica, Gladys Knight, Tina Turner and Marcia Griffiths, Nadiva is unfazed by the many challenges that come her way.
"As an artiste, confidence is a key ingredient in the creation of your product. This industry is a maze of complex and ever-moving parts. My mindset is one of great passion, focus and determination. I remain resolute in my mission to sing for the people of the world. I am also focused on the business aspect of music," she said.
Looking ahead, the talented entertainer, who is one of several artistes managed by Janice Binns of Forward Management Entertainment, is working on some songs that will be released as singles later this year.
