Digicel Brand Ambassador Miss Kitty presents a cash prize to a patron at the Digicel stage at Reggae Sumfest last year.

Digicel, long-time sponsors of the Reggae Sumfest music festival, will be 'Bringing the Beat' this weekend. A major sponsor of the annual iconic music event, Digicel promises to deliver an extraordinary experience to patrons of the show this year.

"Reggae Sumfest is an integral part of Jamaica's social and cultural calendars and, for us at Digicel, this is a big deal," noted Kamal Powell, senior sponsorship and development manager at Digicel. "Jamaican music is worthy of celebration, and with all the excitement from celebrating our 15th anniversary as a born-and-bred Jamaican company, sending off Team Jamaica to fly the flag high at the Olympic Games in Rio this August, and our upcoming celebration of Jamaica's 54th year of Independence, it's only fitting that we 'bring the beat' this year."

The total communications and entertainment provider will give Sumfest patrons the chance to participate in elements of its exciting Bring the Beat summer campaign. The Digicel stage, hosted by vivacious Brand Ambassador Miss Kitty, will also come alive on Saturday night with a number of local acts such as 'Rising Stars' finalist, Anna Mariah, 'Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall' finalist Miyaestro and Shenseea, among others. Patrons will also be able to snag great deals on handsets and credit as well as giveaways of smartphones, credit and even cash.

"Working with Digicel has been quite an experience," said Joe Bogdanovich, chairman and CEO of Downsound Records, producers of Sumfest. "I think that this year's production will be outstanding worldwide, and we look forward to continuing a very productive relationship with Digicel."

The 23rd staging of Reggae Sumfest continues at Catherine Hall in Montego Bay tonight and tomorrow night. The new festival format will feature top acts such as Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, I-Octane, Spice, Super Cat, Christopher Martin and Barrington Levy, among others.
