Prodigal Son is hoping that God will show up when he takes centre stage at the annual CUJ Gosplash at Fort Clarence Beach in Hellshire, St Catherine, on Emancipation Day, August 1, 2016.

"I am hoping that God will show up, and show up in a mighty way when I touch the stage at Gosplash. Emancipation Day is all about liberty and freedom, and I'm going to liberate the people with the message of God through my performance," said Prodigal Son.

The award-winning entertainer, whose real name is Calvin Whilby, is looking forward to sharing his journey as a Christian with the patrons who will be in attendance.

"Without God, I am nothing. I hope all will see it this way, but, again, God gives choices to all of us. I never see bad experiences as a loss, everything I do I do in faith and I learn from all my experiences; I plan to share this message at Gosplash," he said.

Prodigal Son is currently working on a new album titled Back To Basic with producers Danny Brownie and QB. Ever the entrepreneur, he is also focused on doing production work and talent development with other artistes.

Prodigal Son burst on the local music scene over a decade ago with the hit single, I Wish. Since then, he has enjoyed success with a plethora of hits, including Head Cyaan Hot Suh and Bible In The Air.

CUJ Gosplash will also feature performances from international gospel artiste Dietrick Haddon, Shirley Willis, Jabez and DJ Nicholas.
