Vijahlant promotes own label
Local reggae artiste Vijahlant is now undertaking a campaign to promote his own music as well as his independent record label, Vijahlant Records.
The label, established some seven years ago, has now been steadily matriculating into the mainstream local industry and has been garnering serious attention from fans and industry affiliates alike.
Vijahlant, whose real name is Everton Rose, and who is based in Port Maria, St Mary, has always thought it necessary to establish his own label as an artiste. He said it has positively affected his music and has allowed him to have greater creative control over his productions while sharpening his record production skills. Thus far, the artiste has released several recordings on his label. Some of these include Jah Jah Mek It, Harder and Blessing for You. Vijahlant has also produced several singles for many prominent local artistes, including Teflon's Fire, Iyara's Yuh Body Good and Determine's Miss Goodie Good, to name a few.
"As an artiste myself, I've come to realise the importance of having access to a good studio from early on in my career, as artistes are indirectly producers on varying levels. It has done excellently for my own music as there is no better way to intricately learn about all that is involved in music production and the business of music than to actually do it oneself," Vijahlant said.
Vijahlant is now poised to release many new projects including an exclusive EP compilation recorded by reggae/dancehall artiste Determine.
