Demarco collabs with US rapper Tyga

International dancehall star Demarco has landed a major collaboration, 'Feeling U', with American rap star Tyga. The collaboration is produced by well-known EDM producer/DJ Kickraux of Major Lazer's Mad Decent label.

The song features Demarco, Ayo Jay, Tyga and Doctor, an up-and-coming artistes, from BB Records from England, an affiliate of Sony Records.

"The link was made through Blade of SocialYaad, who is friends with KickRaux, to organise the collaboration. KickRaux is Portmore-born and loves dancehall, and we made the link. It was great working with him. We shot up the song inna the studio and the rest is history," Demarco said.

KickRaux issued a release, through his publicist, which praised Demarco's skills.

"With Feelin U, the first single off my and Ras Kwame's album, I wanted to make a feel-good song that promotes a positive message," KickRaux said. "Demarco is one of the most amazing artistes and he has a gift for writing catchy, melodic hit songs, so teaming him up with Ayo Jay from Nigeria, Tyga and Jamaica-born London artiste with a big buzz in the UK, Doctor, only made sense. And now the song is enjoying international success, already getting heavy airplay on radio in the UK, Africa and all over."

KickRaux is known for producing prominent hits such as the remix of Kranium's Nobody Has to Know, Machel Montano's Bring the Beat featuring Usain Bolt for Digicel's Rio 2016 Olympics campaign, and Chronixx and Kabaka Pyramid's Lyrikal Anomaly.

In the meantime, Demarco is getting a major boost in the international market for Feelin U, which got a big debut from celebrity disc jockey MistaJam on BBC1Xtra. In Jamaica, ZJ Sparks has also endorsed the song on ZIP103 FM, while The Beat 99.9 and The Beat 97.9, two of Nigeria's biggest radio stations, are playing it multiple times a day.
