Javada hits Billboard top 100
The name Javada might not yet be a household one in Jamaica, but not for much longer.
The Jamaican recording artiste, who by his own admission has been under the radar for some time, is about to come into international focus.
The singer, who has a new video for his single, Wake Up Beside You, now out, recently broke into the top 100 of the Billboard charts on a song he recorded with international recording star Enrique Iglesias titled Duele el Corazon. The video for the song that recently hit number 86 on the Billboard chart has almost 250 million views on YouTube.
Javada got the opportunity to record with the global heartthrob after he had done some work with noted dancehall producer Rvssian, who also does work in the Spanish music market.
"I did some ad libs for a Spanish artiste. Enrique's people heard that song, heard ad libs, did some research and heard some of my other songs and decided that they wanted to have me on the remix for his song," Javada recalled.
He said he got a message in early June that they wanted him to be a part of the project.
"They sent me the track with the space to do my part," he said, adding that getting the opportunity to record with Iglesias is among the top highlights of his career so far.
"It means a lot to me. It has boosted my confidence in my creativity now. I believe more now in my ideas because it shows that the stuff that I have been doing, people hear it now, international artistes like that and want to be a part of it. He wanted me to be a part of his project and didn't want me to change anything, he wanted me to be myself," he said.
