Bryka tops reggae chart in Japan
Mama Love, a song recorded by singer Bryka and produced by Markus Records, is the number one song on the Unity Sound/More Fire Show Top 10 Reggae chart in Japan.
"It's a good feeling to know that a song done in tribute to mothers and the contribution that mothers have made to family life, is doing well as far as in Japan. It's a joy," said Bryka.
Bryka, born Daniel Anthony Rose, is the nephew of dancehall legend Buju Banton. He has been making a name for himself in music circles in recent times, garnering airplay with songs such as I'll Be That Man (Konsequence Muzik); Shall and I Will (Good Good Productions); Real Youth (New Day); Journey Goes On (Mineral Boss Records); Upgrade, Press On and You Give Me Life (Pay Day Music).
"My interest in music developed from an early age from when I was in the choir at Beulah Missionary Church of God in Golden Spring. That's where I developed my talent, because I always loved singing. It was after my grandmother died that I decided to do music professionally," the Portmore based artiste explained.
Bryka is working with Pay Day Music for the release of his EP titled Survivor. The project is aimed at the Japanese market and will include four tracks.
In July, Bryka performed on Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay, an experience he says has been one of the highlights of his career thus far.
"The response I got from the crowd was very encouraging. People were singing my songs and the lighters went up. I'm was a good look", he said.
