Joseph Israel excited, ready to 'Give Thanks'
American reggae singer Joseph Israel is excited about the release of his new single titled 'Give Thanks'.
The Oklahoma-born artiste is confident that the groovy roots reggae track , which was produced by Kemar 'Flava' McGregor and released on the FM Music imprint, will give him a foothold on the local music scene.
"I have a lot of love and respect for the Jamaican people. Jamaica has had a great impact on my life, so I want my music to bring strength and hope to the people of this beautiful island," said Israel.
Give Thanks was released on iTunes on Friday September 9, 2016, and is also available on all other leading online music platforms.
Israel is no newcomer to the reggae music scene. He released his first solo album, Gone Are The Days, in 2006. Since then, he has released two other full-length projects Kingdom Road (2014) and Paradise (2016).
Born Joseph Montgomery Fennel in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1977 to parents Joe and Jean Ann Fennel, he was introduced to reggae music from a very early age.
"My father was listening to reggae before I was born, so I grew up listening to the music of Bob Marley, Bunny Wailer, Burning Spear and Peter Tosh. As I grew older, I also listened to other reggae acts, including Luciano, Israel Vibrations, Garnet Silk and Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers," he said.
Israel is currently in the studio working on some new projects. "I'm recording a new album right now and I'm also working on an acoustic project and a dub remix of Paradise," he said.
