Pryce steps down as REP MD
Real Entertainment Production (REP) founder Andrew Lee Pryce has decided to step down as managing director for the independent film company. This was announced in a statement released by REP this week.
"I will be pursuing other projects, and this move will allow me to concentrate fully on making those projects a success," Pryce said in the release.
Pryce will be replaced by film producer Karl White, who will take over on a four-year contract, starting October 2016.
"I have been working at REP since 2006. I'm well trained by REP boss Andrew Lee Pryce, and all our projects will continue - but with my added flavour. The full slate of projects - the REP radio show, TV shows, artiste publications, event management projects - will continue as projected," said White.
Real Talk TV show will be launched at the end of this year, while Jam Rock miniconcert is slated to be held at the Courtleigh Auditorium in New Kingston later this year.
"One of the projects, which we are looking forward to releasing, is one called 'The Judge', where the chief character, a judge, will be played by American actress April Lee, whose mother was raped in front of her at age six and whose experience with abuse colours her judgements. It's a fascinating character study and a critique of our justice system," White said
The made-for-TV film was shot between December 2015 and May 2016, and the script was written by Pryce and produced by Real Entertainment Production.
