Vegas thrills Houston Jerk Fest
International recording artiste Mr Vegas was in a jubilant mood when he appeared at the Houston Jerk Fest at India House in Texas recently.
Entering the stage with I am Blessed, the veteran entertainer who recently gave his life to Christ, turned the Houston Jerk Fest into a spiritual celebration. He kept his high-energy performance going with a medley of timeless gospel favourites, including When the Saints Go Marching In, What a Mighty God We Serve and Hear My Cry.
His soul-stirring performance also included original songs from his vast catalogue such as Tek Weh Yuh Self and a remake of Heads High.
"The love and the response I received from the audience at the Houston Jerk Fest was overwhelming. I've turned over a new page in my life, and I am happy that my fans are giving me their love and support on this new and exciting journey," said Vegas.
During the reggae segment of his performance, Vegas paid homage to Alton Ellis by performing some of the late reggae pioneer's hits. Vegas also performed several of his own reggae recordings, including Sweet Jamaica, Love Yourself and his cover of Thinking Out Loud.
Before the end of his performance, Vegas led the large audience that turned out for the event in praise and worship as he sang Nobody Greater and Break Every Chain.
"I'm happy that Jesus Christ has anointed my soul and my vocals so that I can reach people now in ways that I couldn't before. I am so humbled and happy that I have made Jesus my choice," he said.
