Veteran Jamaican comedian Christopher 'Johnny' Daley is now a participant in Laugh Factory's 'The Funniest Person in the World' competition and will go up against 89 comedians from several countries for a cash prize of US$100,000.

The Funniest Person in the World competition will feature participants from 56 countries who will battle for a place in the finals, which will be held from December 4 to 10 in Helsinki, Finland.

Since the launch of Laugh Factory's flagship club in Hollywood in 1979, the internationally renowned company has established itself as one of the leaders for worldwide comedy tours, television shows and movies. The Laugh Factory channel has received more than 210 million views.

Daley said his goal is to make a strong impact while representing Brand Jamaica. "It's a tremendous honour as a comedian and a Jamaican to get this opportunity. When I got the call that the video I submitted was approved and I was officially a contestant, I knew that I have to bring my A-game to this competition because it can put me and Jamaica on the international comedic map," he said.

An active face in Jamaican comedy for more than a decade, Daley is no novice to stand-up performances and has delivered well-received sets in the Caribbean, US and UK.
