UTech Freshaz Fete tomorrow

September 30, 2016

The University of Technology, Jamaica Western Campus, will keep its 'Freshaz FÍte' titled 'Gold Coast' tomorrow. The event will be held at the Sea Gardens Beach on the Hip Strip in Montego Bay, St James.

The Campus Students' Union Sub-Council has planned this event with a different concept and a new vision. "This year, we have envisioned to broaden our scope and revitalise the perception that students have of the school and the union," said David Cadogan, entertainment coordinator of the UTech Students' Union Subcouncil.

Cadogan said 20 per cent of the event's profits will be contributed to charity, specifically the Blessed Assurance Mustard Seed Children's Home. A portion will also go towards the execution of a tag drive, which will be done by the subcouncil in November.

Gold Coast is a day and night event which runs from 2 p.m. to midnight. Pre-sold tickets for regular entry will be $600 while VIP tickets will cost $1,200. At the gate regular entry is $800 with college ID, $1,000 without, and VIP will cost $1,500.

A special VIP package known as the VVIP package will also be available. This will cost $30,000 and will include five tickets, a cabana, two chasers, and a bottle of Hennessy or Remy Martin.

On the line-up are DJ Chromatic, DJ Jigga, and DJ Scott 'The Supreme'. There will also be a special appearance by Jeeby 'The Lyricist'. A shuttle service from Bay West to the venue will be provided for every hour from 6 -11 p.m.
