Tamb group artistes creating waves
Up-and-coming reggae songstress Nastrah D'Empress is creating serious waves locally and abroad with her first single 'I'm Over It' on the One Life rhythm which also features Moshan and Jason-X-Turn.
Nastrah is a United States-based recording artiste who recently signed with New York management company The Tamb Group.
Nastrah's Jamaican flair mixed with her powerhouse vocals, which are often compared to Etana and American singer India Irie, has put her on the international radar.
When asked about her name, Nastrah D'Empress said, "Nastrah is Natural Sistah fused together, and as you can see, I am an empress. The 'D' is the first letter in my name," she shared.
GETTING READY TO SHOOT
The singer was born in Patterson, New Jersey, to Jamaican parents. She started singing at an early age. After watching her father host and DJ at parties, she would sing the songs he played.
Getting ready to shoot the video for I'm Over It in a few weeks, Nastrah D'Empress is completing her follow-up singles Just Might, a hard-hitting ska track, and Caress Me, a twist to Dennis Brown's Caress Me Girl.
Nastrah D'Empress can't wait to team up with label mates Moshan and Jason-X-Turn.
Jason-X-Turn, who hails from Seaview Gardens, St Andrew, recently released Top Ranking, which features Listonia. It is getting heavy rotation in Europe, Japan, and the US. His song, Dough Pon Mi Mind, also on the One Life rhythm, is expected to have a huge impact on radio, Tamb Group CEO, Steve 'Bigg Steve' Anderson, believes.
"These two, new to the Tamb Group, along with the prince of dancehall Moshan, will take over and dominate the reggae-dancehall industry," he said.
