Kasanova, Wassy K sing about relationship
Dancehall artiste Kasanova has collaborated on a new song with Grenada-based soca artiste Wassy K.
The single is titled Distance and documents their intimate relationship which is going through a rocky path due to distance. Kasanova, who has written songs for several established recording artistes, revealed that the single is necessary since music is a medium of expression.
"I decided to collaborate because I needed a medium through which I could address our relationship problems in a healthy way. Relationships are only as strong as the mental stability and will power of both participants," he said.
The song is already in rotation on radio stations throughout the Caribbean. Kasanova also hopes the lyrical content will help listeners to function in the midst of their relationship issues. "The reception has been positive. Many people have stated they can relate to the song because of its practicality and truth. Those who haven't heard it may find it on iTunes and Jahvis Crushroad's YouTube page. He is the largest and most prominent official dancehall and reggae online promoter for all latest songs," he said.
Distance was produced by Idafgang and Touchah Gold Records. The artiste is also promoting a new 13-track mixtape titled Gaza Street which he admits was inspired by Vybz Kartel.
"It is called Gaza Street because of the strong influence Vybz Kartel has on my career and the respect and love I have for him and his music, coupled with the fact I proudly wave the Gaza banner. To me Gaza is a religion. A way of life. Not just a slogan. This mixtape is a carefully put together compilation of enjoyable melodic songs that follow a vivid attractive story line," he said.
The mixtape maybe downloaded on YouTube via Jahvis Crushroad.
